WELCOME TO FLATPICKIN.COM!

This site is a place for those of us who prefer to play guitar with a pick. Especially nice thick ones - picks that can be used as weapons if need be! We jam with banjo players, mando players, Dobro players, fiddlers and bass players. We embrace the music that makes this country great - Bluegrass!

We want to talk about flatpicking guitar, crosspicking, hammer-ons and pull-offs. We love herringbone dreads, a good set of 13-56's, tortoise pickguards and bone saddles. Most of our music starts at 120 beats-per-minute and rockets on from there. We play loud and fast. We don't put people to sleep with our music. In fact, quite the opposite!

It is not our intention to compete with other sites that are geared toward bluegrass music but rather to add to the relatively few resources for this music that the web has to offer. There's a lot of talk lately about how bluegrass music is becoming more and more popular. As a group we can all help promote it. So let's do just that! After all, everybody deserves the best music in the world!

Have fun and enjoy the site!
